Comanche Chief

The Comanche County Historical Museum is getting a new entrance, photos were included of workers from the City of Comanche began smoothing out a new entrance which is locate on Highway 67 and 377 on the west side of Comanche.

Hico News Review

Hico hosted the annual Christmas Lights Parade last week and were impressed by the turnout of entries and onlookers. Parade winners included Backyard Fixins won first place business; Jason Giessner and crew won first place in Christmas Spirit; First United Methodist Church placed first for non-profit; The Hico Varsity Cheer Team took first place in school organization and Cole’s General Store placed first for the most lights.

DeLeon Free-Press

The DeLeon Free Press reported that the Comanche County Sheriff’s office is investigating its seventh homicide in two years. The most recent homicide was located in the Foley Addition near Proctor Lake last Wednesday. The Sheriff’s office reported that the homicide was a result of a domestic dispute gone wrong and that the investigation is ongoing.

Hamilton Herald News

The Hamilton Herald News announced the retirement of Diane Schneider. Schneider worked at Hamilton General Hospital for 16 years and her last day on the job is December 31. Hospital Administrator Grady Hooper said “We are definitely going to miss her.” He continued “She is a hard worker, does an excellent job and will be hard to replace, but we wish her well on her well-deserved retirement.”
