Hamilton Civic Theatre’s presentation of ‘The Hallelujah Girls,’ a comedy by Jones, Hope and Wooten, begins Saturday, June 18 at 7 p.m. at the Ross Street Theater. Additional performances will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 7 p.m. Monday, June 20, Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, June 26 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 and children 12 and younger are $10.
A fiery accident last Thursday on Highway 281 north of Hamilton claimed the lives of two adults and two children. Texas Department of Public Safety, along with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Hamilton and Hico volunteer fire departments, and Texas Department of Transportation, responded to the head-on collision between a pickup and an 18-wheeler about eight miles north of town at 2:43 p.m. June 2.
After four years in Hamilton, Athletic Director Casey Jones accepted a position as the new Athletic Director/ Head Football Coach at Lindsay High School.
Jones recently had his contract renewed by HISD by a narrow 3-2 vote, with two board members absent from the meeting. Jones led the Bulldogs to the playoffs in three of four sea-sons as the head football coach.

Comanche County Commissioners Court met and deter-mined that due to current and predicted conditions in Comanche County, the court has issued a burn ban.
A new nursing home will be built with a groundbreaking taking place in late 2022 in Comanche. The 60,000 sq. ft. building will be located just north of the east end of the CCMC Hospital. It will consist of 76 semiprivate and private rooms with resident dining and living areas, activity room, theater, interior courtyard, physical therapy and rehabilitation department. Oaks and pastureland surround the property, which will feature outdoor seating and nature views.

A chapter in local medical his-tory is closing this month as Nurse Practitioner Stephanie Shepherd is set to retire June 28, after 25 years of treating patients in Hico. Shepherd, an Advanced Practice Family Nurse Practitioner, has spent almost 50 years in the medical profession.
By the first week of June, national gas prices had set 27 records in 28 days. Ten states were already averaging over $5 per gallon, with prices predicted to rise considerably more through Labor Day.
