Hico News Review

The Hico Cross Country varsity girls team was second in Regionals, qualifying them for the state meet. Advancing were: Yesenia Osoria, Grace Booth, Kelli McKee, Kaylee Hunt, Caroline Langley, Vicky Zuniga and Emma Folks. Their coach is Marianne Wienecke.

Six-time PRCA World Champion tie-down calf roper Cody Ohl was reportedly happy to back home in Hico following 50 days in hospitals and more than a month in a rehab facility. Ohl had stepped in a hole and re-injured a knee he hurt back in the National Finals Rodeo in 2001. He is undergoing therapy at Sports Rehab & Physical Therapy in Hico.

The Hico Minesterial Alliance hosted a free shoe giveaway in conjunction with Halloween festivities.

The DeLeon Lady Bearcats were heading to the playoffs fter an undefeated district season.

A crowd including Jo Carolyn Miller, C.M. Caraway and Delyn Reed gathered at the First United Methodist Church Heritage Hall to bid a fond farewell to Hiram Smith.
