Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department responded to a a barn fire near FM 218 on Oct. 17 . The state fire marshal was called to investigate the fire but there had yet to be a determination as to what caused the fire..
Hamilton freshman Garrett Guinn sunk a 154-yard holein-one at Squaw Valley’s par 3, hole number 6 during his first ever high school golf tournament at the Glen Rose Invitational.

DeLeon police officers, volunteer firefighters, Comanche County Sheriff’s Office deputies and the Mighty Maroon Marching Band were among the many flocking to Houston Street on Oct. 5 for National Night Out. Activities included face painting, bounce houses and free hot dogs.
DeLeon First Baptist Church recently welcomed new pastor, Paul Winegeart. He has previously served as a volunteer youth minister in churches in Amarillo, Waco and Justin. Winegeart and his wife, Melanie, have four children.
The Combined boards of the Comanche County consolidated Hospital District and the Comanche County Medical Center met on Oct. 8 to take the final vote to approve $11,615,000 in mortgage revenue bonds for the construction of a nursing home. Concerns were raised that a feasability study had not been performed, which was deemed to be the fault of the auditing firm. The bonds were unanimously approved.

Araceli Ramiez received two accolades during the 2021 Comanche High School Homecoming name when she was named Homecoming Queen and Band Sweetheart. Homecoming King was Zant Chick. Band Beau was Omero Arredondo. Cheerleader Beau was Hudson Welch and Football Sweetheart was Reagan Harms.
