The 32nd annual Steve Clemons Deer Hunter Chili Supper is set for Nov. 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to mark the opening of deer season. Hamilton Mayor Jim McInnis passed away Oct. 25 unexpectedly after a brief illness. City Administrator, Ryan Polster, said “Jim’s passing is a great loss to the City.” He went on to say, “Jim was someone who made you want to spend more time listening than talking. He treated people the way everyone would want to be treated. And he never took someone else’s time for granted.” McInnis was running for re-election and if re-elected on Nov. 3, the mayoral seat could remain open until the city council appoints a new mayor. J. Springer Courtney is also running for mayor.

DeLeon Free Press

Darrell Kimmell announced his retirement from the DeLeon Rodeo. He was the first person to help organize the DeLeon Rodeo Association and presided as President since the organization began. The annual event has found success with as many as 350 contestants.
