Hico police detective Wayne Edgin recently returned from a two-day recertification course for canine detection in Banning, California, where he trained alongside K-9 partner, Robo. The pair were tested on tactics, technique and methodology and received two different certifications in narcotics detection.

Julia Dailey was named to the Main Street manager position for Hamilton. Dailey holds Bachelor an Master of Arts degrees from the University of Texas at Tyler and has experience in management and marketing positions in the public and private sectors.
The 49th Hamilton County Dove Festival sponsored by Focused Care on Sept. 4 was a reported success with crowds enjoying the run, parade, drinking booth, diaper derby, pet show, inflatables, vendors musical entertainment and more. Mayor Rodney Craddick was the grand marshal for the Dove Fest parade.

The DeLeon Area Historical Museum is planning to showcase 30 to 35 quilts in a vintage quilt show on Sept. 24 and 25. Those that have a quilt they would like to display can call the museum at 254-893- 2925.

Jim Winkleman was recently named City Secretary for the City of Comanche. Winkelman first came to Comanche to serve as the president of the Prosperity Bank branch. He also volunteered in assisting with the remodeling of The Mercantile and The Soda Shop for Revitalize Comanche and had a role in the re-branding of Matttdaddy’s restaurant.
