Professional chef Stanton Bundy, a 2004 Hico High School graduate and son of former Hico mayor Stan Bundy, was featured on Aug. 13 in a new episode of ”Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” a nationally-televised series on food Network. Host Guy Fieri interviewed Stanton in his role as the chef of Traveler’s Table in Houston.

Rejuvenation Station provided back to school haircuts for 75 students its annual event, during which school supplies were also passed out.

Hamilton Bulldog Band Director Asa Hamilton was pictured taunting students in a dunking booth during the band fundraiser, in which 300 band boosters were fed and enjoyed games.

Julia Daliey was named the new director of the Main Street program and began work on Monday.

Jamie LaDuke in Hamilton’s new EDC director and is set to start on Oct. 1.

Elsa Pacheco and Bertha Moreno delivered a package of school supplies to DeLeon Elementary on Aug. 12 on behalf of the Salvation Army. The haul included notebooks, glue sticks, disinfectant materials and more. Funds were partially made possible by donations from the community into the Salvation Army bucket around DeLeon during the holiday season.

Comanche Chief

Local real estate company, Kersh Real Estate, owned by David and Kerry Kersh, was crowned the winner on the Aug. 11 broadcast of HGTV’s “Battle on the Beach.” The team won in a competition of renovating a seaside home in Gulf Shores, Alabama against teams renovating similar homes. HGTV first began working with Kersh Real Estate in 2018 when the Comanche couple shot a pilot that never aired, but the network kept them in mind for this competition.
