Valedictorian and Salutatorian for Hico’s class of 2021 were pictured on the front page with information about their upcoming graduation. Erin Ballard was named valedictorian and Lisa Wright was named salutatorian. Baccalaureate ceremonies will be on Sunday, June 6 at 7 p.m. and graduation will be on Friday, June 11 at 7 p.m.

Hamilton ISD decided to lift their mask order for staff and students. Masks are recommended but no longer required at school after the school board voted (6-1) on the matter last Monday. The Board also swore in new members, recognized nearly 100 students, nailed down graduation details and approved a contract for a canine drug detector team with many other items on the agenda.

Tuesday night, athletes were honored for their hard work at the 2021 Athletic Banquet. Pictured on the front page was Chloe Stovall (Senior) who was named Lady Cat of the Year and MVP of the 2020-2021 De Leon volleyball and basketball teams. Also pictured was Lane Powledge (Senior) who was named Bearcat of the Year and MVP of the 2020- 2021 baseball teams.

Comanche announced their graduation details and pictured the valedictorian and salutatorian. Graduation was last Friday and was held at the Indian stadium at 8 p.m. Valedictorian was Rylee Owen Deters and salutatorian was Sharon Bered Victoria. Both graduates plan to attend Texas A&M.
