The Comanche Chief
Comanche ISD Superintendent Daren Worell released a statement that Comanche ISD students and staff would continue wearing masks. Worell wrote “The Texas Education Agency has left the decision to continue wearing masks at Comanche ISD up to our local school board and school officials. Believe us when we say this is not a decision we take lightly. Trying to balance the Texas spirit of independence and freedom while keeping our community safe, is not an easy task.” Worrell listed reasons for these decisions with number one being that even though the mask mandate was lifted, quarantine has not. Worrell explained that they are hoping that continuing to wear masks will allow the students to continue doing activities they enjoy and allow students to have a “normal” educational experience under the unusual circumstances.
