The remains of DeLeon native Kayla Rice were found in Louisiana near the town of Vinton. Skeletal remains were found and identified as Rice and she had not been seen or heard from since the end of November. Her vehicle was found at her apartment in Beaumont, but Beaumont police believe the vehicle could have been physically altered. The last time anyone heard from Rice was on November 23, according to the Missing Persons Database. Suspicious activity was found on her phone after that date and was not used again after November 29. The Beaumont Police is asking anyone with information to report it to the department at (409) 832-1234.
Comanche Chief
The Comanche Indians Varsity Boys Basketball team was playoff bound. The Indians were set to play the Wichita Falls City View Mustangs on Thursday, February 18 in Mineral Wells. According to MaxPreps, the Indians were defeated by City View with the final score of 86-49.
