Hico News Review

The Hico Clinic began COVID vaccinations for those on the wait list last week. People ages 65 and up and those with underlying health issues are some of the first in line to receive the vaccine. The Moderna vaccine requires two rounds of shots (the second to be administered 4 weeks after the initial shot) and side effects such as sore arm and a slight headache have been reported to occur in the first 24 hours after the vaccination is administered.

A photo featured participants at the largest broiler show the Hamilton County Youth Fair has ever had. Kids are seen holding their chickens to be judged, with several of them laughing. Included in the photo is Clementine Cooper, Laney Lane, Braylee Wilson, Anna Claire Cooper, Lawson Yates, Bret Bauman and Cooper Trailor.

Comanche Chief

Pictured were several Comanche County Officials being sworn in on January 4. Grace Everhart was sworn in as Comanche County’s Tax Assessor; Chris Pounds was sworn in as Sheriff; Mark McDonald as Constable; Johnny Conine as Justice of the Peace; Sherman Sides as Commissioner of Precinct 3 and Gary “Corky” Underwood as Commissioner of Precinct 1.

Winners of the DeLeon Livestock Show were announced. Grand Champion winners included: Brazos Boswell (swine), Landon Stephens (lambs) Allyson Johnson (goats), Abigail Koenig (heifers) and Neeley Gooden (steers).
