MS Trail Ride returns May 1

Body

May 1 marks the return of the annual Cowboy Capital Trail Ride at Tarleton’s Hunewell Ranch in Stephenville after the event was forced to cancel in 2020 due to the social distancing guidelines that were in effect last year.

It benefits the National MS Society in its crusade against multiple sclerosis, a chronic and often disabling disease of the central nervous system.

The cost to enter is $50 per adult rider and $30 per child 12 and under.

Teams of three or more will be eligible for awards, such as Top Fundraising Team, Largest Team and Most Spirited Team, while individuals will compete for Top Fundraising Individual, Traveled Farthest, Oldest Rider and Youngest Rider.

Prizes will be awarded during a BBQ lunch provided by the Knights of Pythias.

Breakfast will be provided by Erath County Cowboy Church and HEB.

The morning break and rest stop will be provided by Saint Gobain. There will also be a live and silent auction. Check-in will begin at 8 a.m. The ride is at 9 a.m.

All riders must provide proof of negative Coggins testing and are responsible for turning in any donations.

Donations must be turned in prior to the ride to be eligible for prizes on the day of the ride. Live and silent auctions are set. For more info or to register, visit ccmstrailride.com. For questions on the day of the ride, call Mary Howard at 977-3686 or Diane Tidwell at 592- 1895.
