LISD open again after COVID close

Lingleville ISD returned Tuesday from an even more extended Labor Day weekend after having to close its door for a large number of people exposed to COVID-19.

“We had over 15 percent of our students out quarantining,” said LISD Superintendent Curt Haley.

When the district realized they were going to be very short on faculty, they decided on Wednesday afternoon to close the school through the weekend.

District employees spent Thursday cleaning the campus and then kept the building empty through the long weekend to help sterilize everything.

Haley reported that things were going well Tuesday morning although some employees were having to help in shortstaffed departments.

“We’re doing our best to keep our students and staff healthy during difficult circumstances,” said Haley. “We appreciate everyone’s support.”
