Lingleville FFA hosts awards banquet

The Lingleville FFA held its annual banquet Thursday, April 30 in the school cafeteria.

The ceremony ended with the unveiling of new officers: President Marti Luttrell, Vice President Kaitlyn Kolb, Secretary Abby Ponce de Leon, Treasurer Amelia Finney, Reporter Mackenzie Whitefield, Sentinel Lee Rosalez an Chaplain (a new position) Jacob Koke.

The ceremony was led by outgoing members President Brody Hurt, VP Alexa Aviles, Secretary Marty Luttrell, Treasurer Kaitlyn Kolb, Reporter Elly McDowell and Sentinel Mya Aviles.

Awards presented included: Greenhand - Grayson Stewart, Rayne Kelley, Mackenzie Whitefield, Cady Smith, Brynlee James and Elizabeth Crumal Chapter Awards- Marti Luttrell, Amelia Finney, Ava Mendez, Teagan Woodall, Brittney Everett, Lee Rozales, Jacob Koke, Kaitlyn Kolb, Simon Dominguez Honorary Membership for service to the chapter: Dewayne Kolb and Kayci Fair-Quarles The following senior were recognized and presented with special gifts: Brody Hurt, Lane Walker, Madyson Davis and Giselle Azua Fresh Country Top Seller (receiving a belt buckle for raising the most in the fundraiser assisting FFA activities): Jacob Koke There were also 26 students recognized for participating as stock show exhibitors, eight LDE teams and six CDE teams.

A wide variety of baskets and handmade items were up for auction and a spaghetti supper were also served to raise funds for the organization. Dewayne Kolb and Kayci Fari-Quarles spoke on behalf of the Lingleville Ag Boosters (LAB, stating a need for more parents and students to get involved in the program.
