Library fundraiser Saturday

Body

The Dublin Public Library is seeking everyone’s help with supporting a fundraiser to aid the Summer Reading Club.

A breakfast burrito fundraiser will be held in conjunction with Dublin Market Day Saturday, May 17 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Wright Park.

The menu include a choice of egg, cheese and sausage burrito or egg, cheese and bacon burrito or an veggie option with egg, cheese and potato.

Burritos are $5 each with a salsa packet and drinks will be available for purchase.

Drive-up and walk-up orders welcome, and pre-orders encouraged.

As Summer Reading Club kicks off, both adults and teens can pick up their reading logs starting Friday, May 16 lasting through Saturday, July 19.

The ‘Color Our World’ event will encourage reading by having participants log their books for a chance to get prizes and free books of their own.

For each book you read or 10 picture books participants will receive a chance to enter drawings for six Schlitterbahn Waterpark Tickets (sponsored by First National Bank), a Nintendo Switch, Apple Air Pods, Minecraft Legos, magnetic blocks, a Bluey Scooter, a Bogg bag, a Pokeymon bookend set, an acrylic paint set or a choice of two book lover sets.

This summer will be chalked full of events both for Summer Reading Club and the recently reinstated Mission to Mindfulness grant from the Texas State Library and Archive Commission.

“We are so grateful for our community partners that are stepping up this summer to help us provide for our kids and the community,” Librarian Adina Dunn said.

Summer Reading Club activities throughout the summer are listed below. For a complete listing of all activities including Mission to Mindfulness events, go to dublinpubliclibrary.com.

All offerings are free. Each Tuesday the library will drop a new Make and Take craft project for kids (while supplies last).

Sensory Safe hour is every Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. featuring a more quiet library environment.
