Kasel tops PBR finalists

The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) announced the top 40 riders April 29 in advance of the World Finals: Unleash the Beast in Texas event. Leading the pack is Muleshoe native and Dublin local Dalton Kasel.

The 2025 PBR World Finals will again feature a three-stage, tournament style format, awarding a historic $3.26 million. Bull riding’s crown jewel will begin with Eliminations (May 8-11) followed by Ride For Redemption (May 14-15) in Fort Worth at Cowtown Coliseum, setting the stage for the Championship (May 17-18) in Arlington at AT&T Stadium when the 2025 World Champion will be crowned.

At the 2025 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast, one rider, not including ride score points, has the chance to earn a maximum 1,240 Unleash The Beast points across both Eliminations and Championship. Each round winner will earn 80 points, with the event winner of Eliminations collecting 200 points and the winner of the Championship earning 400 points. Riders will also earn points for their ride scores: from 70-79.75 points/ 7 points, 80-89.75/8 points and rides 90-99.75/9 bonus points. A rider registering all 90-point rides at both Eliminations and the Championship, would earn an additional 72 world points.

The 2025 PBR World Championship battle has been one of the fiercest in the organization’s history.

In a highly competitive season in which 15 different riders won a regular-season event, and it took an average score of 89.77 points to win a round, Dalton Kasel will begin the landmark 2025 PBR World Finals with a 126-point lead over No. 2 Brady Fielder. Looking down the standings, the world’s Top 10 are separated by 661 points.

During the 23-week regular season, no rider led the world title battle by more than 188 points, and with 1,240 points available from May 8-18 in North Texas, all 40 qualifiers have a mathematical pathway to the World Championship, including No. 40 Ethan Winckler who trails topranked Kasel by 1,122.5 points.
