All incumbents were re-elected to their county offices in the March 3 Primary.
Out of 26,357 registered voters in Erath County, 6,829 individuals voted (25.91%): 5,678 on the Republican Party Primary Ballot and 1,151 on the Democratic Party Primary Ballot.
All county offices were on the Republican Party ballot in Erath County. Without challengers on the Democratic ticket, all winners in county elections will be automatically elected to office in November.
For County Commissioner Precinct 2, incumbent Albert Ray was re-elected with 709 votes (60.25%), challenger David Bays received 252 votes (21.64%) and challenger Dale Spurlen received 207 votes (17.71%). There were 126 undervotes and one overvote in the race.
For County Commissioner Precinct 4, unopposed incumbent Jim Buck was re-elected (1,059 votes, 259 undervotes).
For Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1,3,5, incumbent Chili Alexander was re-elected with 3,125 votes (77.72%) while challenger Melissa Sanchez Ferguson received 898 (22.28%). There were two overvotes and 359 undervotes.
For Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2 incumbent David Martin was re-elected with 983 votes (84.23%) and challenger Dionica Azua received 184 votes (15.77%). There were 128 undervotes and one overvote in this race.
On the Republican ticket, Rick Gann was elected as the Republican Party Chair.
On the Democratic Ticket, Moumin Quazi was re-elected as Democrat Party Chair.
Unopposed incumbents were re-elected including: District Judge, 266th Judicial District Jason Cashon, County Judge Brandon Huckabee, County Court at Law Judge Blake Thompson, District Clerk Wanda Greer, County Clerk Gwinda Jones and County Treasurer Angie Shawver was re-elected.
In statewide voting totals, there is a runoff on the Republican Party ticket for U.S. Senator between incumbent John Cornyn and challenger Ken Paxton. That runoff is set for May 26 and only those who originally voted in the Republican Primary are permitted to cast a vote in the runoff.
Cornyn received 907,205 votes (41.89%) and Paxton received 881,115 votes (40.68%). On the Democratic Ticket for U.S. Senator, James Talarico was declared the winner with 1,212,486 votes (52.45%), challenger Jasmine Crockett receiving 1,068,330 votes (46.21%) and challenger Ahmad R. Hassan receiving 31,010 votes (1.34%).
Talarico will face off against whoever wins the May Runoff Race between Cornyn and Paxton.
Incumbent Governor Greg Abbott received 1,759,888 votes (81.76%) and will face off against Democratic challenger Gina Hinojosa, receiving 1,285,334 votes (58.53%) in the primary.
For Lt. Governor, Republican incumbent Dan Patrick received 1,779,364 votes (84.79%) and will face off against whoever wins a Democratic Primary runoff between Vicki Goodwin (receiving 1,008,368 votes, or 48.01%) and Marcos Isaias Velez (receiving 661,347 votes, or 31.49%).
