Honoring Those Who Served

Body

A special metal marker was placed by the Dublin Veterans Memorial at the Dublin Public Library Monday morning. The silhouette of a pair of boots, an M-16 rifle and a helmet was installed in honor of Vietnam War Veterans Day and in observance of those locally and across America who served in the Vietnam War. The special marker was made at Dublin’s Jarhead Fabrications, with Ray C Rollins reporting that the design is a universally-recognized image honoring service in Vietnam. Present for the dedication were: Ray Rollins, Dublin American Legion Post 219 Vice Commander Ray C Rollins, Post 219 Commander Jesse Rollins, Robert Hilton and Bobby Williams. The Vietnam Veterans of America website has a lot of information about Vietnam Veterans Day, the conflict and resources for veterans. The site can be found at vva.org. Betty Rollins | submitted photos
