Dublin and the Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 2nd annual Hispanic Heritage Festival Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
The festival is bringing back some crowd favorites and adding some new excitement as the festival moves to the Dublin City Park.
The kickoff will begin all around town on Sept. 30 though as customers can enter for gift baskets at select businesses; businesses will compete in the best window decorations; live entrainment will be available at local businesses and live music and karaoke will be on tap for Lucky Vines and Red Barrel respectively.
The festival day fun will carry out from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at the city park and feature a wealth of fun including: a boxing tournament, folkloric dancers, live music (including a dance), Mexican food cooking demonstrations, Performances by the Dublin Dandi-Lions and Dance Line, the return of the fan-favorite clown, pinata busting, vendors, food trucks and bounce houses. Current chamber members are entitled to free booth space at the event.
There will also be a morning parade along North Patrick to Blackjack and a Cabalgata (trail ride) from Highway 847 to the City Park.
Alcohol will be for sale during the event, but will only be served to guests 21 and older, wearing an official wrist band no coolers allowed.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs on Saturday to take in the live entertainment and events.
