An open house is set March 19 for the Shops on Grafton so the local community can get a look at a new space showcasing all of the quality goods and services available from the local area.
The site is the idea of Carmen Anderson and Michelle Dummar’s Andermar Properties, which is currently negotiating spaces for local producers.
“We’re a rural community,” said Anderson. “Sometimes people associate that with settling for less but I don’t think that’s right. Dublin is a great community that has so much to offer.”
With this is mind, Andermar is compiling local producers for the Grafton Market, set to have deli food, baked goods, homemade soaps and more.
Interviews are still being conducted for producers of several goods but some offering quality items have already been secured.
The location will also feature the Grafton Center in the former Dublin Premier atrium. This space is slated for free movie nights, bingo nights, potential trivia events and much more.
This space will also be utilized by the successful Studio 6:14 with instructors Brittany Thurman and Tara Frailey offering some of their more popular classes in the Dublin location. Negotiations are also underway for karate classes to be offered onsite.
The rear of the building is also being renovated for The Dud, a manned space where kids can hang out and play games with their friends. Board games will be available to check out and video games will be ready to play, and there will also be a mini concession area. All of this will be available for a low monthly membership fee.
Anderson and Dummar are also moving their business, Little Authors, into the block from around the corner.
Anderson invited the community to check out the space.
“This isn’t something that has just been slapped together,” said Anderson “This is something that has been thoroughly thought out and we want them to see.”
