Glimpses from the past provides track for the future

Citizens share in the excitement of being invited into the historic Missouri-Kansas-Texas railroad depot at an open house Friday, July 31 commemorating the 250th birthday of the U.S. with apple pie and ice cream. The depot event encouraged more than 250 citizens to share their input as decisions are made as to what the next 250 years may hold for the depot. Responses are still being tabulated by the Dublin Historic Railroad Committee. However, with 76 sticky note responses, overwhelmingly people urged the history of the building to remain keeping as much original as possible. A variety of suggestions as to what the building could be one day including an operational train station, a place for community events, restaurant/retail, art museum, kids after school event place or a place for family events.
