Fishing report

Body

BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 44 degrees; 1.90 feet low. Largemouth bass are good with perch like crankbaits, brown or green Texas-rigged plastic worms, chartreuse bladed spinners, and shaky head jigs near timber, rocky shorelines, and docks. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in brush piles and near bridge pilings. White bass and hybrids are good on slabs, swimbaits, and live bait along the main lake channels, humps, and ridges. Catfish are good on shrimp, chicken liver, and live bait.

GRANBURY

SLOW. Water lightly stained; 41 degrees; 0.34 feet low. Check the weather for the wind forecast. Striped bass are slow and scattered throughout the reservoir biting on slow moving swimbaits and crankbaits and deadsticking. Report by Kraig Sexton, Sexton’s Guide Service. Blue catfish are good congregating in decent numbers in 4-13 feet of water along channel drops and adjacent flats caught on smaller pieces of cut bait or whole shad. Anglers can use electronics to look for fish schooling near bait schools and depth transitions. Early morning and afternoon bites are best, with the bite slowing after sunset. Shad are grouping in larger numbers in depths of 13-23 feet of water over main channels. Be sure to check mid-depth flats along windblown shores as these parts of the lake are holding scattered fish right now and should offer bank fishermen better fishing opportunities.
