Body

BROWNWOOD

Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 0.08 feet low. The water is beginning to cool down, and we should see Fall fishing patterns coming soon. Largemouth bass are good with perch like crankbaits, brown or green Texas rigged plastic worms, chartreuse bladed spinners and shaky head jigs near timber, rocky shorelines, and docks. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in brush piles and near bridge pilings. White bass and hybrids are good on slabs, swimbaits and live bait along the main lake channels, humps and ridges. Look for birds diving over feeding schools of white bass. Catfish are good on shrimp, chicken liver and live bait.

GRANBURY

Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 0.35 feet low. Seagulls have returned to the area which is a sign that Fall is on the horizon. Soon you will be able to track their diving feeding to find the fish. Fishing has been good, and should be shifting to the Fall patterns as the cold fronts roll through. As the temperatures decline, suspended fish should start moving up and feeding. The fish on Granbury are healthy and only going to get bigger as they feed on the abundant bait fish. Recent reports of sand bass are good using slabs on mainly mid lake from Decordova Estates to in town by the Shores. Black bass reported as good to 7-pounds on crankbaits and soft plastics fished near main lake points and near deeper shaded docks. Striped bass are good to 10-pounds fished near channel ledges close to feeding flats from Indian Harbor to Blue Water Shores. Catfish continue to be good to excellent on cut shad all over the lake. Crappie limits are common on small minnows and jigs fished from the Peninsula to the 51 bridge.

POSSUM KINGDOM

Water slightly stained; 78 degrees; 0.30 feet low. Fishing is starting to transition into the Fall pattern. Stripers are good using jigs and divers while trolling. There are also reports using live bait on the lower ends of the lake. Catfish are good on cut shad fished in heavy submerged trees. Crappie are fair.
