BROWNWOOD
SLOW. Water stained; 47 degrees; 0.01 feet above pool. Black bass to 5 pounds are slow on scope minnows off the rocks, but fair on Hag’s All Around jigs in Juice Box around steep banks and squarebill crankbaits in 2-14 feet of water. Crappie are slow to 1 pound on jigs and minnows in brush piles in 8-12 feet of water. White bass are slow to 1.5 pounds on crankbaits and Alabama rigs scattered around the lake. Catfish are fair on cut bait and nightcrawlers.
GRANBURY
GOOD. Water stained; 50 degrees; 0.03 feet below pool. Lake Granbury is at full pool. Water temperatures are rebounding from the cold snap and should return to the low 50s this weekend. The sand bass spawning run is ongoing on the upper ends, but many sand bass can still be caught in deep water where they are staged to move up. Striped bass are being caught throughout the lake, or near bait fish close to the river channels especially on those colder days. Cast 3-5 inch soft plastics jerkbaits or flukes to put these striped bass and sand bass in the boat. Largemouth bass are best on warm days when they move shallow to feed.
POSSUM KINGDOM FAIR. Water stained; 50 degrees; 0.27 feet below pool. SStripers are slow to fair in 20-40 feet of water. Live bait is still putting fish in the boat each trip, but the fish are still scattered. Jigs heads with fluke tails are your go-to for deadsticking which has produced a few fish, pink seems to be a good color at the moment but some fish can be caught on chartreuse. Sand bass are fair in 20-40 feet of water with live live shad, or small deadstick baits. too. Fish should be moving up into the creeks soon, so keep checking. Catfish are fair to good. Cut shad is producing good numbers of fish in 2-5 feet of water fished on or near the bottom. Water clarity is steady at 1-8 feet of visibility and slightly stained.
PROCTOR
FAIR. Water stained; 45 degrees; 0.21 feet above pool. Catfish are slow in shallow water with cut or live bait, there is a better bite in deep water. With the warmer weather expect fish to move shallow.
WEATHERFORD
FAIR. Water heavily stained; 50 degrees; 4.88 feet below pool. Crappie are good in the Crappie House on jigs and minnows. Bass and catfish are slow deep and around rocks. Water visibility is 12 inches.
WHITNEY
SLOW. Water normal stain; 50 degrees; 0.02 feet above pool. Catfish are good using punch bait or cut shad in 25-25 feet of water. Striped bass bite is good deadsticking with flukes, or with live bait in 30-45 feet of water. Crappie are good with small jigs and minnows on timber in 15-20 feet of water on the north end of the lake.
