Dublin Renegades Fast Draw is inviting everyone to its District 1 Championship Shoot this weekend, opening up a whole new fun world for those who may be unfamiliar with the sport.

The event will be held Friday, July 11 through Sunday, July 13 at Rancho Viejo located at 11875 south FM 219 outside Dublin. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and Sunday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Fun shoots will be held on Friday, with main matches being held Saturday and Sunday.

The event will have seven rounds on Saturday and three more on Sunday after Cowboy Church at 8 a.m. The finalists will be calculated, then go into finals for buckles and cash prizes.

The owner of Xtreme Fast Draw America, the national organization partnering with Dublin Renegades, will be in attendance, as will the organization’s Board of Directors, Secretary, and its National Safety Director.

“Any of us are happy to answer questions about our sport, be it a concern about our rules, safety protocol, guns and gear, or anything else you might be curious about,” organizers Jennifer and Richard Young said. “We would love to introduce you to our sport firsthand, to show you what it is that we do, to help you better understand our rules and safety protocols in action. If you are able to make it out toward the beginning or end of the day, there’s an excellent chance that we can even get you set up to try it for yourselves!”

The organization will have silent auction and raffle items, and those auctions are open to the public as well. There will be a raffle for a Ruger 10/22 shotgun that was donated.

They will also be collecting donations for flood victim relief at the event.

“Feel free to drop items by any time while we are out there and we will ensure they get to the right place where they are most needed next week,” they said. “Spectators are always welcome, you can stay as long as you like, so be sure to being your families and friends too if you are able to make it out. We would love to see you! Come help us represent our town!”

The concession stand and bar will be open for spectators throughout the event.
