The Dublin Economic Development Corporation approved several grants during its regular board meeting and unanimously voted to start meeting the last Tuesday of the month, starting in October.

The decision to switch the meeting days stems from scheduling conflicts with other groups.

Grants approved included:

■ $5,000 for Little Authors whose owners were present and said that the elaborate and colorful facade wouldn’t have been possible without the assistance offered by the Dublin EDC

■ $5,000 to Blessings for metal signage

All of the grants were unanimously accepted by the directors in attendance, except for Paul Bradberry abstaining from the vote on Blessings since it is owned by his brother and sister-in-law.

EDC executive director Karen Wright praised the work that has gone into the facades of downtown businesses, saying that the 100 block of E. Blackjack particularly looks great in the morning.

Paul Bradberry also thanked the Little Authors owners and Dunn for attending saying that Dublin is appreciative for its growing business community and the services offered by the library.
