Dublin students, school district staff and community members banded together Friday and Saturday to host a pair of successful Regional Powerlifting Meets at Dublin Secondary School. The campus hosted 143 lifters from 21 schools on Friday for the Region 2, Division 2 meet and 160 lifters from 42 schools on Saturday during the Region 2, Division 3 meet. Dublin’s Celeste Alvarez claimed her ticket to compete at state after earning first in her class at the Saturday meet. (See more Dublin results on page A12.) Dublin coach and incoming Athletic Director Greg Hardcastle issued a thanks to all the volunteers and the Dublin Athletic Booster Club saying that hosting the meets would not have been possible without them.
