Spring Break, Testing, and Upcoming Events: A Busy Time for Students and Staff As we approach the end of the school year, students and staff are gearing up for an exciting and busy time with numerous events and testing sessions. Here’s a look at some important dates and happenings for the coming weeks.
Spring Break: May 17th-21st Students and teachers alike will get a well-deserved break from their rigorous routines during Spring Break, which will take place from May 17th through May 21st. This time off provides a muchneeded opportunity to relax, recharge, and prepare for the final stretch of the school year.
TELPAS Testing: The Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) testing will be held this week. This assessment evaluates the progress of English language learners, and it’s an essential part of ensuring that all students can meet academic standards. Teachers and students are busy preparing for this assessment, which plays a crucial role in guiding further educational support.
SAT and ACT Testing: College-bound students will also be preparing for the SAT and ACT, which are scheduled for the upcoming weeks. Both tests are vital for college admissions, and students are encouraged to study hard in order to perform their best. Testing dates and registration details can be found posted on campus hallways as well as checking their email.
Biology and US History Benchmarks: In addition to the standardized college entrance exams, students in specific grade levels will be preparing for important benchmark tests in Biology and U.S. History. These assessments serve as practice for state-level exams and provide insight into students’ understanding of key concepts. Teachers will be offering mandatory tutoring sessions to ensure students are ready.
EOC Testing in April: The end-of-course (EOC) exams for high school students are just around the corner, with testing taking place in April. EOC exams are a significant factor in graduation requirements, so students are strongly encouraged to put their best foot forward. These tests will cover Algebra I, English I, English II, Biology, and U.S. History.
District UIL Comanche: On a lighter note, the District UIL competition is fast approaching, March 26th, bringing together students from various schools for a fun-filled event in Comanche. Students will compete in a variety of academic events, showcasing their talents and teamwork.
Invitation High School Track Meet This Thursday: This Thursday, March 6th our high school track team will be hosting an invitation track meet, where they will compete against other schools in a series of events. Athletes are eager to demonstrate their hard work and dedication as they race toward victory. The meet promises to be an exciting event for both participants and spectators.
Cheer and Drill Team Tryouts: Saturday, March 8th Cheer and Drill Team tryouts will take place at the high school campus. We wish the best of luck to all students trying out for the 2025-2026 school year.
