Dublin High School News

It is a great day to be a Dublin Lion! This school year is going rapidly and before we know it, we will be closing the second six weeks. Parents, we appreciate your support in helping us encourage your students to be the best they can be and find their way to future goals. Our partnership is very important and much valued!

Students will soon be finishing the football and volleyball seasons heading into basketball. High school band students recently performed at Mineral Wells for Regional contest. Their dedication to performance in the marching area earned 1s and a place for Area competition on October 23 in Denton, Texas. We would like to extend a very special “thanks” to our Band Booster Club for all their support! We look forward to seeing all programs be successful and grow

Next Monday, October 25th, Dublin High School will be hosting a FAFSA Workshop, 6 - 8 PM in the Cafeteria. During the FAFSA Workshop, staff from Tarleton State University will guide students and their families through filing the FAFSA application and answer questions about financial aid to give students a better understanding of the process. Seniors and dual credit students are encouraged to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!

Next Thursday, October 28th, we will be administering the SAT on campus. The SAT is a test that measures college readiness. While Covid has changed many colleges and universities to SAToptional, it can still be a contributing factor to college admissions and scholarship selection. If a student chooses not to take it, colleges will lean more on other factors such as class rank and GPA. As our Seniors and underclassmen get closer to graduation, our goal is for them to have every opportunity available to prepare them for what comes next.

As a reminder, we are in flu season. If your child is running a fever, please keep him/her at home. In order to return to school, he/she must be fever-free for a minimum of 24 hours. We are experiencing zero Covid cases, but this is prime time for the flu and stomach bugs. Encourage students to wash their hands several times a day to help prevent the spread of germs.

We look forward to the coming months and to what our lions and lady lions will be accomplishing. Parents, thank you again for your support and all you do to encourage your children. Working together, we will change the world one child at a time.
