The Dublin Garden Club held our first fall meeting Sept. 10th, in the home of DJ Klutts. Mary Howard and Edilsia Jimenez were co-hostesses.
Our guest speaker was Texas Master Naturalist, Peggy Tolboom. Peggy’s presentation was on our local bluebirds, which are the Eastern bluebird. They range from Texas to the east coast. Peggy informed us what they like to eat, desired shelter, nest building, nesting box requirements, and predators. Peggy is a member of the Texas Bluebird Society. They have a website at TxBluebirdSociety.org for more information. Peggy is also a distributor of nesting boxes for anyone wanting to create habitat for the Eastern Bluebird.
Our next meeting on October 8th will be hosted by Carolyn Tidwell. We meet the second Wednesday of each month, at 3pm. We have guest speakers each month. We invite you to join us. Please contact President Mary Howard at 254-9773686 for more information.
