Dublin FFA members headed to State

Dublin FFA is sending one of its teams to state competition at Texas Tech this weekend after the Entomology team placed second out of 20 teams at Area competition last weekend.

All of the team’s members also placed in the top 10 of 70 individuals with Mariana Ortiz placing 3rd, Maggie Rollins placing 8th, and Sehrsha Glover placing 9th!

The Homesite team also placed seventh. Team members are Paige Wilson, Jackie Gibson, and Maryli Garcia.

The Land team also placed seventh overall. Team members are Chrissy Lehman, Rodolfo Macias, and Karyna Lopez.

The Dairy Cattle team tied for ninth out of 27 overall; team members are Frida Villicana, Alicia Gomez, Colton Moore, and Wyatt Watson.

The Wool Evaluation team also placed ninth in the Area today. Team members are Aliza Maldonado, Frida Villicana, Chrissy Lehman, and Rosie Perez.

Livestock placed 18th in a very competitive area contest. Team members are Callie Estes, Callie Sears, Kerrigan Kieson, and Kaylan Kiser.

Also competing was the Horse team. Members are Jacob Shubert, Sage Mizer, Petey Gomez, and Lily Wilson.

Dublin FFA followed this with a Monday appearance at the district convention in Weatherford (group pictured) where Joli St. Germain and Rodolfo Macias were elected as District Vice-Presidents.

Colton Moore also made the top six as an Area Officer candidate but did not get into the top 2.

Madison Turley also for placed 3rd in Jr. Prepared Public Speaking with her speech over new dairy technologies. (Only the top two advance to Area)

Also representing Dublin as voting delegates were: Voting delegates are: Wyatt Watson, Kerrigan Kieson, Maggie Rollins, Chrissy Lehman, Sehrsha Glover, Frida Villicana and Madison Turley.
