Whether it was milk quality or entomology, hundreds of students from the area gathered at the Dublin Secondary Campus Friday, Feb. 27 to participate in the second annual Dublin FFA Career and Development Event.
These events focus on developing and practicing industry skills such as food product quality, identification of nursery plants and pests, homesite analysis and dairy cattle evaluation.
“We were excited to host students from over 200 miles away,” said FFA advisor Sophie Hayhurst. “Proceeds from this event go towards supporting Dublin FFA competitions, student travel meals, and scholarships awarded at the end of the school year at the FFA banquet.”
Dublin FFA offered 10 different contests this year, served more than 136 meals and utilized both the Dublin High School Agriculture Center and Fluit South Dairy for the contest.
Hayhurst issued a special thank you to Fluit South Dairy, Texas Sage, Wolfe Nursery, Dublin Dairy Queen, Thompson’s Custom Meats & Processing, Dublin Sonic, Golden Chick and Dairy Max for their support!
