Dublin Band holiday concerts Dec. 15

Dublin ISD will host its band Christmas Concerts at the Dublin High School Gymnasium at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15.

The free concert will feature the high school wind ensemble, junior high symphonic band and 6th grade concert band.

Faces of Christmas set Dec. 16-18

Cottonwood Church will be hosting an original theaterical and music experience called The Faces of Christmas.

Performances are 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 with a free fajita meal for the community and 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18.

The performances are free and everyone is invited to attend, organizers said.

The church is located at 273 County Road 527 in Dublin.

Greens Creek to present Christmas program

Green’s Creek Baptist Church will present its annual Christmas musical program at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18.

The choir program is entitled “I Call Him Lord,” under the direction of Bob Becker, narrated by Dr. Rudy and Crystal Tarpley. Technical director is Isaac Belher and featuring soloist Gaye Gibson. The presentation will be signed by Susan Sharp.

Other members of the choir include Barbara Jones, Stacey Koiner, Betty Hiser, Judy James, Vicki Keith, Gloriana Tadlock, Payton Ferguson, Joetta Phillips, Shirley McDonald, Nora Carter, Dave Keith, Charlie Phillips, Randy Sharp, Jim Myers, Gary Basham, Jackie James, Wayne Gibson, and Mac McKinnon. Ben McCleery is pastor of Green’s Creek Baptist.

Everyone is also invited to attend the annual Christmas Eve candlelight and communion service at 6 p.m. Dec. 24 at Greens’ Creek Baptist.

Carols in Candlelight set for Dec. 18

Cross Timbers and Graham Street Churches of Christ are partnering together to bring Carols by Candlelight in the Birdsong Amphitheatre in Stephenville City Park from 7-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18.

The community is invited for a 45-minute service to celebrate the birth of Jesus in song, with a special service of Christmas carols and a reading of the story of the birth of Christ.

Light Up the Night up in Stephenville

Erath County United Way is bringing “Light up the Night, a Christmas Celebration” presented by Mangrum Air Conditioning.

The Light up the Night walking trail is 3/4 mile with iconic displays and light features in the Stephenville City Park.

There will be stops along the route for families to make s’mores and warm up with hot chocolate. The stroll through the park will be lined with trees, thousands of twinkling lights, animated displays along with a nativity scene and a huge singing Christmas Tree. There is also live entertainment each Saturday night at 7 p.m.

The trail is open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 16-18.

Tickets are $10 for adults, children 12 and under are $5 and children under 2 are free with a ticketed adult.

Light show available in Comanche

A synchronized light show is available in downtown Coman-che throughout the holiday season. Visitors can tune their radio station to 87.9 radio to hear music that accompanies the lights.

Planetarium hosting Mystery of Christmas Star

The Tarleton State University Planetarium’s most popular holiday show, “The Mystery of the Christmas Star,” will run through Dec. 20. It investigates possible dates for the birth of Christ and examines recorded sightings of significant astro-nomical events at the time.

Shows are free and on a first come, first serve basis with limited capacity. The show is available at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, Monday, Dec. 19 and Tuesday, Dec. 20; 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17.

The planetarium is in the Lamar Johanson Science Building on the Stephenville campus.

The box office will open one hour before each show. Park after 6 p.m. in lot P-22/P-23, which is accessible from North Rome Street, across from the Recreation Sports Center.

Christmas Murder Mystery Party Dec. 19

There will be a Christmas Murder Mystery Party from 2-4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19 at the Stephenville Senior Citizen Center located at 164 E. College Street.

Granbury hosting Miracle on 34th Street

Granbury Theatre Company will conclude its 2022 Broadway on the Brazos season with “Miracle on 34th Street” now through Dec. 23, at the historic Granbury Opera House in downtown Granbury.

Regular performance times are 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, 7:30 p.m. on Fridays, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays. There are also extra weeknight performances on Dec. 20-21.

Live Nativity set in Lingleville this week

Lingleville Baptist Church will host a live nativity walk-through interactive experience Friday, Dec. 16, Saturday, Dec. 17 and Sunday, Dec. 18 every 30 minutes starting at dark.

The free interactive experience includes live animals, biblical characters and hot chocolate.

There is no charge for the event or parking, but donations are accepted.

The church is located at 21543 FM 219, Dublin, TX 76446.

Comanche to offer free ice skating

Comanche will be offering a free synthetic ice rink for the community and visitors to enjoy for free inside the Commu-nity Center.

Ice skates will be provided for all skaters.

The skating rink is open from 5 - 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 and 23; 1-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 and 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18.

If there are crowds, ice skating will be broken up into 30-minute increments to allow everyone the chance to ice skate.

Star Council to host Kids Winter Camp

Star Council is hosting a Kids Winter Camp at the Foster’s Home on Dec. 20 and Dec. 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Foster’s Home, located at 1779 N. Graham Street.

There will be fun and creative indoor activities, snacks and movies! The event is free but registration is required. For more information call Sydney Cogburn at 254-965-5515 ext. 232.
