If your furry pal doesn’t travel well or get along with others, Dublin’s newest mobile groomer Dog Gone-It Grooming may be the perfect fit.

Owned by Sierra Miller, Dog Gone-It was welcomed into the Dublin business family Saturday, April 13 with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.

Coming from a family that has been in the dog business her whole life, Miller said opening the mobile groomer seemed to be the perfect fit for a college student who wanted to be in charge of her own schedule.

With her mom raising Goldendoodles and her sister raising English Bulldogs, doggie knowledge travels in her family and Sierra’s mom suggested it might be a good fit.

Researching attending a grooming school, Sierra, who was then living in Denver along with the rest of her family, could not find one close.

As fate would have it, one day when she was visiting a pet store there was a guy putting up flyers seeking a groomer to work for his grooming company. When Sierra inquired if he required the employee to be certified or go through school he told her no saying he would pay and train her if she was interested.

Working with that company for two years, Sierra who was tired of the Denver cost of living, decided to move back to Texas and her family relocated alongside her.

As a third generation Tarleton State University attendee, Sierra was happy to start at the university and loves her biology major that will eventually lead into a master’s program to study genetics.

Over the past year, Sierra has been busy, alongside school, building her mobile dog grooming trailer and her business.

Starting to take clients two months ago, rave reviews were uttered by many clients at her ribbon cutting ceremony, which was attended by friendly canines and humans alike.

“My family is very supportive and they are all excited,” Sierra said.

One quality Sierra is praised for is her patience with dogs.

“I’ve had a lot of people tell me you are the only groomer my dog likes or will tolerate,” she said. “I’m good at building trust with dogs.”

As a mobile groomer, she said it’s so much easier on the dog since there is no kenneling or strange dogs at the appointment.

Most of Sierra’s services are $40 to $80 per dog and she will travel outside of Erath County for an additional travel fee.

Services include nail trimming, de-shedding, baths and haircuts.

Sierra admits that her prices may be a bit lower than other mobile groomers but that’s because she wants everyone to be able to have their dogs groomed, even college students.

Sierra is also willing to bathe cats or clip their nails, but admits sometimes it stresses cats out so much that it isn’t worth the bath.

The best way to reach Sierra at Dog Gone-It Grooming is by call or text to 970-903-0576. She is available weekdays for grooming appointments.
