“Thank you, thank you, thank you ...” could be heard over a video recording prepared with Dublin ISD third graders in honor of School Board Appreciation Month at the Monday, Jan. 27 school board meeting. The district also shared its annual TAPR report which showcase 2024 STAAR results that were all higher than the state average.
For school board appreciation month, board members received handmade thermoses with the DISD logo on them, filled with flowers arranged by the FFA floral design class, a selection of snacks and gift cards and a plant. The board room was covered in posters made by DISD students in appreciation for their work.
During the board meeting an update regarding the greenhouse was presented. The greenhouse, which is part of the Dublin FFA program, is nearing completion and will be having an open house in March and a plant sale in April.
The board also approved the elections contract with Erath County and ordered the election for school board be called for May 3. No one has yet filed, however, both School Board Trustees Anjelica Salyer and Pat Leatherwood have indicated they will be running again.
