The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will address alternative crop options in West Texas during the first 2021 On the Line with AgriLife online event at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 19.
The free half-hour program will be on the Zoom meeting platform. Other series topics will be addressed each month and registration is required for all of them.
“We are excited to announce that ‘On the Line’ is back for 2021,” said Cody Trimble, AgriLife Extension agent for Glasscock County. “We will continue our monthly program covering relevant topics to West Texas agriculture. However, one new thing we are asking participants to do this year is to preregister.”
Calvin Trostle, Ph. D., AgriLife Extension agronomist and state hemp specialist, Lubbock, will be the featured speaker.
“Dr. Trostle will be joining us to discuss alternative crop options in West Texas,” said Trimble. “While cotton remains king in West Texas, the environment lends itself to many different crops that can be profitable and useful as a rotation option with cotton.”
Trimble said Trostle would speak for about 30 minutes and then take questions from the audience.
Monthly webinars feature various AgriLife Extension agents and specialists discussing topics important to West Texas stakeholders, although Texans statewide are encouraged to participate.
