Family Fun Day to be hosted Saturday
The Stephenville/Dublin KOA will be hosting a family fun day Saturday, Aug. 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Attractions will included bounce houses, water slide, pedal cars, Connect 4, Giant Jenga and more, along with a cornhole contest. Admission is $5 for the public and free to guests of the park.
Pulled pork tacos, smoked brisket tacos, hotdogs, cotton candy and popcorn is included in the admission.
The KOA is located in Dublin at 1205 N. FM 219.
Annual Iris Sale this Saturday
It’s that time of the year again for the Lone Star Iris Society will host its annual iris and plant sale from 9 a.m. to noon (or when sold out) Saturday, Aug. 30 at the Hico High School Auditorium.
Members have been digging in their gardens. There will be many beautiful irises for sale.
The high school is located at 901 Cedar in Hico. Shop early for best selection. Hope to see you there society members said!
Canines & Coffee set for Sept. 6
Erath County Humane Society will be hosting its 2nd annual Canines & Coffee 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 6 at the shelter.
There will be vendors, games for the kids, bouncy house and live music along with TikTok Influencer Nick Luciano.
It will be held in the field next to the shelter and serves as a fundraiser for the new building.
Comanche County Museum to host Quanah Parker Day
Comanche County Museum will be hosting its annual Quanah Parker Day celebration 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13.
Guests will include Lee White, Rod Corpus and Dale Acker who has Quanah Parker's pocket watch.
They will show artifacts about Quanah Parker and Native Comanche Indians.
Refreshments, cookies and punch will be served.
Admission is free, however, donations are accepted.

Legacy offers rock painting social
A free Rock Painting Social will be offered at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28 at the Cross Timbers Legacy Center in Stephenville.
All materials will be provided - all participants need is the ability to relax, have a good time and be creative. The social is open to adults of all ages and The Legacy is located at 830 S. Graham Ave. in Stephenville.
