BROWNWOOD

Body

SLOW. Water slightly stained; 83-85 degrees; 6.90 feet low. Bass are good to eight pounds on crankbaits around docks with brush in 12-20 feet of water. Crappie to one pound are excellent on minnows suspended under docks. White bass are fair on crankbaits schooling and jigs under the lights. Catfish are slow on prepared baits around baited holes and on jug lines.

FAIR. Water lightly stained; 80 degrees; 1.64 feet low. Granbury striped bass are slow. They can be caught trolling umbrella-rigs with white or chartreuse grub tails, trolling deep diving crankbaits but live shad seems to work the best drifting shallow flats on the south end of the lake. Report provided by Kraig Sexton, Sexton’s Guide Service LLC, Fishing Charter, Marine Electronics & Accessories Installation. Largemouth bass are good on the lay downs in the river on both frogs and Texas rigged soft plastics. Report by James Moore, North Texas Bass Fishing and Cmoore Striper Guide Services.

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 81 degrees; 3.60 feet low. Striped bass are great in 25-45 feet of water with live shad, or trolling white and chartreuse jigs. Sand bass are good on gold and chartreuse spoons and slabs fished in 10-25 feet of water on or near points. Catfish are good on small pieces of cut shad fished 20 feet deep in 30 feet of water. Water clarity is 3-6 feet of water depending on location. Report by TJ Ranft, Ranft Guide Service.

SLOW. Water stained; 82 degrees; 7.37 feet low. All fishing continues to be poor while the lake is down. Black bass are slow. Hybrid stripers and white bass are poor on slabs. Crappie are fair in 15 feet of water using minnows. Catfish are poor on cut shad.

SLOW. Water lightly stained; 84 degrees; 7.36 feet low. Crappie fishing has improved to fair with catches coming at the crappie house with minnows. Catfish are fair with cut bait and shad off rocks and main lake points. White bass are slow on slabs. Bass are slow off main lake points and rocks with crankbaits and worms.

GGOOD. Water lightly stained; 80 degrees; 6.87 feet low. Striped bass are good trolling umbrella-rigs with white or chartreuse grub tails or swim baits attached throughout the reservoir in 12-40 feet of water. Live minnows are working as well, but fresh live shad is still prefered. Top water lures work as well, if you can find the fish schooling, but the stripers don’t stay up long and are moving fast.
