Mobile testing site returns Today
The free mobile testing site is returning Thursday (Jan. 21) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church (950 Glen Rose Highway in Stephenville).
The free swab testing is being offered as a collaborative effort between DSHS, TDEM, TMD, the RACs and the TX EMTF.
Those seeking a test can strive to the church during the open hours and register. Since this is not the rapid test, results will be available in 48-72 hours. For more information on mobile testing, call 965-1326.

Fundraiser to help new heart
Dublin’s Josh Hanes set up a fundraiser on GoFundMe for his father, Carey, as he faces heart transplant surgery. Hanes wrote the following in seeing up the fundraiser: “My Dad has been battling congestive heart failure for 9 years, he has managed to work and provide for our family despite his health concerns.
“Over the past 2 years his health has declined drastically. He has been in and out of the hospital. Right now he is in end stage heart failure, and he is waiting for a heart transplant.
“Although insurance will pay for this procedure, there are many other expenses that my family will need help with. I do not normally ask for help, but this is a circumstance where help and support are much needed. Anything helps. Thank you!”
As of Tuesday afternoon, the fundraiser had raised $2,770 of its $5,000 goal.To donate to Carey’s cause, sear for “New Heart for Carey” on gofundme.com.

MTGCD funds project
Middle Trinity Groundwater Conservation District voted to fully fund the construction of its outdoor learning center during the regular meeting on Jan. 7 with directors deciding they would be better stewards to pay for the project rather than finance it when little is accruing in investment accounts due to low interest rates. Directors were assured that they will be able to approve expenses as work continues on the project, which will offer a wealth of environmental and conservation information for visitors.
