Star Council hosts Library Card event
The Star Council will hosting a social event at the Dublin Public Library to celebrate library card sign up month.
The event will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26. Everyone who gets a library card from Sept. 1 through Sept. 26 will be entered to win a prize and the winner will be drawn at the event. There will be fun activities at the library for participants.
Blood drive to be hosted
District 67 Masonic members are hosting a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at Lodge No. 267 in Stephenville.
The drive will benefit Scottish Rite hospital for children. Donors will receive a t-shirt while supplies last.
Scarecrow contest now underway
Dublin Public Library is inviting the community to join in the fall spirit with a Build Your Own Scarecrow contest benefitting the local library.
The cost is $50 for businesses and $25 for residents to enter. Deadline to register is Oct. 3 and all scarecrows must be displayed by Oct. 17.
The fundraiser will help the library in purchasing books, technology and other supplies that aid in its services, outreach and programs.
Those entering are reminded the contest is intended to be familyfriendly so decorate accordingly.
Displays must be visible from a city, county or state roadway. Displays must be located on private property by permission of landowner and should not limit vehicle visibility or in any way to obstruct traffic. The highway/ road right-of-way must be observed and not infringed upon.
Those participating will take a picture which can be emailed to staff@dublinlibrary.org to load into a Facebook album where votes will be taken for fan favorties.

Bingo Night to benefit Elks Lodge
The Stephenville Area Elks Lodge No. 2334 will be hosting a bingo fundraiser at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Grafton Event Center at 112 S. Grafton Street.
There will be five rounds and the event will be donations for the Elks Lodge.
Happy Belly Deli will be open for dinner during the event.
FBC Mobile food pantry
First Baptist Church of Dublin is hosting the Tarrant Area Food Bank Mobile Pantry every 1st Thursday of the month from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the church parking lot.
Health Summit set for Sept. 27
There will be a health summit for health professional from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 on zoom for Erath, Johnson, Hood, Parker and McLennan counties.
The summit is being hosted by Erath Engaged, Erath County Community Bridges and Texas A&M Agrilife extension.
Topics will include how to prepare patients for an emergency situation, heath stats and hot topics for rural counties, local free and low cost health and wellness resources.

Educational/Fish Day set for Oct. 1
The Stephenville Area Elks Lodge Fun and Educational/Fish Day is set to hook up some fun Oct. 1 for youth ages 9 to 13.
There will be fishing available for youth, a water safety program by the Army Corps of Engineers, a Hall of Shame Trailer that will be present, Texas Parks and Wildlife, fishing 101, knot-typing, casting and more. The event will be held at Copperas Creek and Proctor Lake from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Community Table in-person again
The Community Table at Dublin First United Methodist Church is now serving meals in the fellowship hall as well as performing deliveries. The meals are free to the community the last Wednesday of every month, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
