Highland Baptist hosting Day in the Country

Join us this Saturday, September 4, at Highland Missionary Baptist Church for a Day in the Country beginning at 2 p.m.

In addition to a barnyard petting zoo, hayride and old-fashioned gospel singing, there will be demonstrations of sewing, outdoor cooking, farming, construction and much more.

The day in the country will conclude with a preaching service at 7 p.m.

Masonic Lodge hosting blood drive The Stephenville

The Stephenville Masonic Lodge #267 is hosting a blood drive on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the lodge (244 S. Columbia, Stephenville).

The blood drive will be conducted by Carter BloodCare. Masonic blood drives benefit the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Donations require a photo ID.

Market Days set Sept. 18

Mark your calendar now for Sept.18 Dublin Market Days! Looking forward to the Dublin Market, there are other opportunities to support our local producers and creators: the market in Comanche is coming up on Sept. 4. Stephenville is next. The Dublin Market will feature new vendors and great variety! . Start thinking about fashions and decorations for autumn. Plan for the most unique wares and gifts and the freshest produce and baked goods. Come to Dublin Market Days and see what the new vendors have to offer. Rodeo set Sept. 11 at City Park

Diamond Cross Rodeo will present a UPRA/CPRA sanctioned rodeo at 7:30 p.m. in the Dublin City Park Arena. The event will feature awardwinning rodeo clown Chase Nolan, a 9-11 Tribute and concessions. Tickets will be $10 to enter with free admission for kids 10 and under. Proceeds will assist in local scholarships and worthwhile efforts. Admission will also be free for a Friday night slack event at 7:30 p.m.

FBC hosting mobile food pantry

First Baptist Church of Dublin is hosting the Tarrant Area Food Bank Mobile Pantry every 1st Thursday of the month from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in our church parking lot.

Extension Education Clubs of Erath to meet

Monthly meetings resume Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. (Three Way Extension Club, meeting in the cafeteria at Three Way Elementary School).

The Clairette EEA Club will meet on Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. , and the Achiever’s Club will meet Sept. 21 at 11 a.m.

After summer break and following the school calendar, Extension Education clubs will meet COVID safety measures in mind. Each meeting will include a brief educational program or activity, with September meetings featuring a Food Preservation program provided by Andrea Brooks, County Extension Agent for Family and Community Health.

These clubs provide members the opportunity to extend education beyond book learning and into issues surrounding life and wellbeing. Members are invited to select topics of interest each year to be provided at the monthly meetings. These clubs also give back to their community in a variety of ways, including providing educational programs, giving scholarships, doing community service projects and assisting with 4-H and youth activities.
