Ranger hosting drone course
Ranger College will present a Drone Piloting Course, taking place Oct. 15 - 17, 2020, at Ranger College’s Erath County campus located at 1745 W. South Loop, Stephenville, TX 76401.
Ranger College is proud to bring the Drone Piloting Course to Stephenville and the surrounding communities through a grant awarded by Texas Workforce Commission.
The Drone Piloting Course will provide a comprehensive course to learn the basics of drone operation, and the FAA 107 regulations that guide the industry. Small businesses and sole proprietors may apply for grant funding to cover the cost of tuition and fees. A simple, two-page application is required, and Jennifer Ratajczyk, Ranger College Grant Coordinator, is available to assist with the completion of the application.

CTFS hosting BBQ fundraiser
Cross Timbers Family Services will host a BBQ fundraiser and open house on Thursday, Oct, 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Meat will be smoked by Fat Mary’s Catering and will include: beef brisket, pork butt, pork tenderloin, beef tenderloin butt and 2-meat plates (in limited quantities) with sides. The event is being sponsored by Fat Mary’s, Texas Beef Company, McCleery Family Durocs and Lone Star Ag Credit. Takeout meals can be purchased by visiting crosstimbershelps.org. Rodeo Museum serving up fundraiser
Dublin Rodeo Heritage Museum has set Friday, Oct. 16 as the date for a drive-thru lunch as a fundraiser.
The lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the rear door of the Museum on North Park and will consist of a pulled pork sandwich, macaroni salad and beans with tea. Cost is $10.
Members of the board will also deliver.

Congressional candidate to speak in De-Leon
Everyone is invited to meet US Congressional candidate Jon Mark Hogg, Saturday, October 3, 2 p.m., at the old City Park in De Leon. Gather under the covered picnic area, or nearby wherever you see the “Register to Vote” quilt. Volunteer Deputy Registrars will be there to register voters. Bring your own lawn chair.
