Corn Turn-Row Meeting

Corn silage is a big crop in Comanche and surrounding counties with several thousand acres grown every year. This corn silage is grown to support the strong dairy industry in the area. For the last several years we have worked with local ag businesses, seedsmen and the Hoekman Dairy to conduct a pretty extensive set of corn silage trials. We have some good multiple year data on several varieties most often used in the county, and we add a few new ones every year.

This year the corn turn-row meeting will be held on Thursday, June 23rd starting at 6 p.m. at the field near Hoekman Dairy. We will have Texas A&M Specialist, seed company representatives and local seedsman talking about varieties, increasing corn rootworm issues and this years growing conditions and crop expectations. It will be an interesting and informative meeting. We will also be providing 1 CEU for private applicators that attend.
