Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Fair

Well, it is that time of year again, Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. Despite the recent and perhaps ongoing tough times everyone has experienced, we all still have lots to be thankful for and lots to celebrate. One of the very best ways to celebrate the holidays is with great holiday dishes and treats, this is especially so here in Texas. If you would like to share and enjoy some great holiday treats and maybe pickup some recipes for new favorites, then you will want to attend the Comanche County Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Fair. The event will be held on Wednesday, November 3rd at the DeLeon City Auditorium from 2:00 until 5:00 PM.

We will have some great speakers covering various topics. Mrs. Amy O’Brian-Glenn Family and Consumer Science Agent in Eastland County will be talking about ways to help stretch your holiday food dollar while still serving excellent holiday fare. With rising cost across the board this will be a very interesting and important topic. Mrs. Andrea Brooks Family and Consumer Science Agent from Erath County will be talking about cooking healthy holiday foods while spotlighting everyone’s favorite holiday food ingredient pecans.

We are encouraging attendees is to bring individual samples of their favorite holiday treat or snack to share with everyone. Everyone that brings holiday food samples will have a table to display their treats on and we will make copies of everyone’s recipes to share. There is no charge for the event, and everyone is welcome. We request you give us a call if you plan to attend, especially if you plan to bring food, that way we will be sure we have enough tables for everyone to display their creations and we can get recipe copies made. The DeLeon City Auditorium is very large and we will spread everyone out and do our best to follow good China Virus management practices. To RSVP or for more information please call the County Agents office at 325-356-2539.
