Comanche County Extension Agent Michael Berry received the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) from the National Association of County Agriculture Agents (NACAA) during the 2024 Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference in Dallas, Texas on July 17.
NACAA is a nationwide professional Extension organization established for Extension Educators/Agents and other professionals who work in agriculture, horticulture, forestry and natural resources, 4-H youth development, community development, and related disciplines.
The DSA is conferred on members who have worked in Extension for at least ten years, are held in high esteem by their fellow workers, and have developed and put into effect an outstanding Extension program. Berry was one of several honorees who represent the top two percent of the membership selected by their peers.
Michael has been with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service since 2005 and has been the county agent in Comanche County since 2012.
He coordinates with multiple local agriculture producer groups and Extension specialists to plan and implement comprehensive Extension educational efforts including research trials, demonstrations, tours, and educational programs.
Comanche County is a thriving agricultural county and Michael considers it an honor and privilege to be able to work with local agriculture producers.
