Comanche County Museum launches summer activities
The Comanche County Museum has launched summer activities including an arts and crafts show through Thursday, July 10.
All are invited to bring their homemade arts and crafts to display in the Comanche county Museum Show. Members of the Comanche Art Association will also have their art on display.
Anyone who does quilting, crochet, knitting, tatting or cross stitch, painting, or drawing, is welcome to display their work. There are several large tables and rooms available to display work.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday – Saturday located at 402 Moorman Rd. Comanche, TX 76442.
Firework sales now open
Fireworks stands are now open in Erath County and Texas through July 4.
Fireworks may NOT be discharged in the city limits of Dublin or Stephenville, and cannot be set off alongside TxDOT roadways. Be safe!
Community TCAP Trip for spay and neuter
Once a quarter, Texas Coalition for Animal Protection in Weatherford graciously sets aside 30 appointment slots for Erath County ( and beyond!) residents' pets to be fixed. Erath County Humane Society provides transportation to and from the clinic. The pet owner is still responsible for payment. This allows those that don't have the ability to stay in Weatherford all day or those that cannot afford spaying/neutering from traditional vets.
To reserve a spot, you will need to fill out this google form then submit proof of payment within 48 hours of receiving an email from us. Do not prepay without having your spot confirmed by the Humane Society. To fill out the form go to the Humane Society's Facebook page.
Drop off time would be between 6:15-7:15 a.m. and pickup up has been around 6 p.m. with the last few trips.
Mark your calendar for fish fry
The Stephenville Area Elks Lodge No. 2834 is encouraging everyone to mark their calendars for its All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry at 6 p.m. July 19.
For $15, participants get fish, fries, hush puppies and tea. The meal will start at 6 p.m. and last until they run out. The lodge is located at 1560 Hyman St. in Stephenville.
