Free Flu Shots offered Thursday, Oct. 3
There will be a free drive-thru flu vaccination event at First Baptist Church from 3-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3.
The event is sponsored by Faith Community Nursing Program with Texas Health Resources. There is no insurance, no co-pay and no personal questions asked. It is available to anyone over 9 years old. It is a drivethru event so there is no need for anyone to exit their vehicle. You may not receive a vaccine if you are ill or have a temperature. The church is located at 220 W. Kingdom Threads to host free Winter Coat Drive
Kingdom Threads will be hosting its winter coat giveaway from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 26 at First Baptist Church.
There will be free clothes, shoes, hats, coats, bags, scarves, gloves and other accessories too for all ages! All items are free of charge.

Clairette Cemetery Annual Meeting Oct. 5
The Clairette Cemetery will be hosting its annual meeting and lunch Saturday, Oct. 5.
Please join them for the annual meeting (11:30 a.m.) and pot luck lunch (noon) at the Clairette Community Center (Old School House).
Please bring your favorite foods to share. Iced Tea will be provided. Pumpkin Patch adventure this weekend in Dublin
A Pumpkin Patch Adventure will be held Friday, Oct. 4 and Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Stephenville/Dublin KOA (Moore RV Park) located at 1205 N. FM 219 in Dublin from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Admission is $5 per visitor and visitors will receive a free small pumpkin with admission.
There will be a pumpkin patch, food trucks, fun games with prizes, photos ops and a large variety of pumpkins and gourds available for purchase. Pumpkins of all sizes are available for purchase through October.
NatureFest set for Saturday, Oct. 5 in Stephenville
Prairie Oaks Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist will be hosting its free 6th annual Nature Fest from 10:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at Bosque River Trail Nature Center.
Enjoy booths and activities for kids and adults.
Explore skins and skulls, wildlife techniques, freshwater fish identification, tracks and tracking, telescopes, microscopes, bluebirds and reptiles!
Participating organizations include Texas Parks & Wildlife, Mineral Wells State Park, Fossil Rim, Lake Brownwood State Park, Middle Trinity Groundwater Conservation District, Ranger College, the Big Country Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist program, and Prairie Oaks Chapter members.
Sponsors include Texan Restrooms, Staples, Hayden Real Estate and Cornerstone Animal Hospital.
Bosque River Trail Nature Center is located at 735 East Long Street.
Buckles ‘N Bibles Youth Rodeo Sunday
Double N Cowboy Church will host its 18th annual Buckles ‘N Bibles Youth Rodeo Sunday, Oct. 6 starting at 2 p.m.
Entry fees are $1 per event with events including: Mutton Bustin’ – 4-6 years, Stickhorse Race – 6 and under, Calf Scramble – 7-12 & 13-18, Barrel Race – All ages, Goat Branding – All Ages, Dummy roping-7-12 & 13-18. The fun family event will also feature concessions and a cake walk.

Fall Festival this Friday
The Dublin Elementary School and Intermediate School will host its annual Fall Festival Carnival from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at the old Memorial Stadium across from the elementary school. Bracelets and tickets will go on sale starting at 5 p.m.
Everyone is invited to attend, organizers said.
Fish Day set for Saturday, Oct. 12
Fish Day hosted by the Stephenville Area Elks Lodge No. 2834 will be held from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Copperas Creek at Lake Proctor.
The free annual fishing day and water safety event is open to kids ages 8-13 and their guardians. Free lunch will be provided and a water safety program will be provided by the Army Corps of Engineers.
