Historian, author to speak Aug. 22 at Library 

Erath County native and author of Kenny-Colwell: The History of an Early Texas Family, Mary Jo Kenny will speak at the Dublin Public Library at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22. Among the first families settling Texas in the early 1800s, these two families eventually settled in Erath County. Sharing their saga, Mary Jo’s talk offers insight into Texas life of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Erath County Genealogical Society welcomes you to attend.— submitted

CWJC to host September classes

CWJC/Transformation Pathway will be holding its September Tuesday series of classes next month.

Sept. 3 will be a resume writing workshop, Sept. 10 will be a job search workshop, Sept. 17 will be interviewing techniques and Sept. 24 will be a mock interview workshop.

Those who pre-register for the free classes will receive $5 in store bucks to spend at the CWJC Thrift Store.

Shop the Block Vendor Event

Laurel Glen at Stephenville will be hosting a vendor event Friday, Aug. 23. Come to the community for a fun shopping event around the block. Snacks and drinks will be provided. All the proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer's Association.

Art of the Cowgirl set for September

Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council will present Art of the Cowgirl celebrating Rodeo Heritage Sept. 7 -28. Art exhibits will be on display at the CTFAC Gallery on the Square, County Annex II Gallery, Stephenville Public Library and a special VIP Luncheon Sept. 19 at FUMC Stephenville.
