Dublin’s rich history will be on display in Wichita Falls after a television crew came to town Monday to film inside of all four museums: The Ben Hogan Museum, the Frontier Heroes Museum, Dublin Historical Museum and the Rodeo Heritage Museum.

Tila Grant, a morning anchor for channel 6, the CBS affiliate in Wichita Falls, had selected Dublin as part of her segment, “Tila’s Travels.”

“I try to find the coolest places that are interesting, family friendly, and affordable to show our viewers,” Grant said.

While searching the web, she found information on Dublin’s array of museums and reached out to Chamber of Commerce Interim Executive Director Amy McDonald and Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Karen Wright, who set up Grant’s visit.

Grant and her photojournalist, Vincent Sargent, started off the day at the Hogan Museum. Grant admitted she was not a golf fan but found Hogan’s story of triumph in the face of adversity touching.

“Just hearing his determination to keep going is really inspiring,” she said.

They crossed the street to National Health and Public Safety History Museum (aka Frontline Heroes Museum) where Grant was overwhelmed by the amount of information on display, initially finding difficulty in what to shoot.

The crew then took a break and learned about Dublin’s city and rodeo history and the Historical Museum and rodeo Heritage Museum in the afternoon.

Grant reported that the Dublin spot was planned as two parts due to all the information, with the first segment planned for Sept. 30.
