Accident claims Dubliner

Body

Tragedy struck Tuesday morning when a twovehicle accident in Stephenville claimed the life of 39-year-old Dubliner Mindi House.

According to Stephenville PD Captain James Gresham, House was driving eastbound on Washington in a white Jeep when she attempted to turn left onto Wolfe Nursery Road at a yield light shortly before 7 a.m.

The vehicle was struck by a Dodge Ram 2500 pickup heading westbound on Washington during the turn.

House was driving the Jeep she used for work as a postal carrier, meaning that the right side (where the Jeep was struck) was the driver’s side.

House was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gresham reported that the driver of the truck was uninjured, adding that he was cooperative and distraught.

“We always encourage people to wear their seatbelt, and don’t be in a hurry,” Gresham said. “This was a tragic accident.”
